Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before getting in touch.

  • The first session is a chance for us to meet, talk about what's brought you to therapy, and see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure to share anything you're not ready for. At the end we'll discuss whether to continue and what that might look like.

  • This varies enormously from person to person. Some people find 6–8 sessions helpful for a specific issue. Others prefer ongoing weekly sessions over a longer period. We'll review this together as we go.

  • Yes - everything discussed in sessions is completely confidential. The only exceptions are situations where I have serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others, in which case I have a professional duty to act. I'll always discuss this with you openly.

  • No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to arrange a consultation.

  • Yes - online sessions are available via a secure video platform. They are just as effective as in-person sessions for most people and are available to clients across the UK.

  • I ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations may be charged at the full session rate.

  • A small number of reduced-fee places are available for people on lower incomes. Please mention this when you get in touch and we can discuss what's possible.

  • Payment is made by bank transfer before or after each session. I'll send a simple invoice by email.
